lies that sell

I am fine, everything is fine
oh, I am doing great
No, it's been amazing !
- all lies, lies that sell too easy,

because the world- too busy
to spot the lines, beneath those eyes
the dried trail of tears
besides the lips, curved in a fake smile

because the world- too busy
in its own chase, a rat race
of dreams forced onto oneself
by a society's craze for utopia

because the humans around,
are everything but humane,
carrying their broken hearts
in a cage of entitlement

wrapped in undeserving hostility,
their story of what it could be,
their idea of what it should have been
ignorant to what is, to what can be

ignorant traders of lies, of stories
-stories to live through, rarely to live by
equally ignorant to one's plight 
and the lies of passers-by.
