This new year I resolve

This new year I resolve
to not wait for a new year
when wanting to start
something that I wanna do
because that's just
me procrastinating again!

not wait for a new year
to start living a healthy life
or have a healthy diet
to finish the tasks once initiated
to close chapters
that have scars as words,

scars which sparkle red
every time I look at them
not wait for a new year
to open new doors of opportunities 
or to start hoping again
to start living again

or to start dreaming again
or what ever else there is 
on that resolutions' list;
This new year I resolve
to not wait for a new year
to start living on my terms;

Because Darling,
new years are yet
another man-made marker 
a vain attempt of keeping track
and add some sense
to this wheel of time

Whilst it's I
who has the power
to be the person I chose to be
be the person I want to be
be the person I dream to be 
from the moment I make that choice

So this new year I resolve
to take every moment as it comes
and make it my own
just be, just live
rather than wait
for the upcoming year!
